2024 sees the NPGA make their biannual pilgramage to the USA to compete for the 8th Hemisphere Cup. The iconic South Carolina destination of Hilton Head has been chosen as the battlefield where the Northern Hemisphere will be out to defend their 2022 win in Sawgrass/Alabama and try for their 1st back to back victory since the inception of the Hemisphere Cup back in 2008.
Northern Captain, Mark Stevens, has assembled a strong roster to defend the Cup but Southern Captain, Gary Lord, will leave no stone unturned, no bunker unraked and no divot not replaced to regain the Cup that they reliquinished in the memorable 2022 challenge.
Harbour Town Golf Links will host the Practice Round together with Round 3 and the Final Round.
- One of the most celebrated courses on the PGA TOUR, Harbour Town Golf Links is both the crowning achievement of famed designer Pete Dye and design consultant Jack Nicklaus. It places a premium on finesse, imagination and shot making, rather than strength. Home of the RBC Heritage Tournament for the past 54 year and one of only 5 tournaments given "invitational" status by the PGA.
Australian Winners - Graham Marsh (1977) - Greg Norman (1988) - Peter Lonard (2005) - Aaron Badley (2006) and English Wiiners - Graeme McDowell (2013) - Matt Fitzpartick (2023)
Heron Point by Pete Dye will host Round 1
- Designed by the late, legendary course architect Pete Dye, this golf course challenges golfers with risk-reward long and short holes. The fairways move toward and away from hazards and Dye’s ubiquitous mounding and swales framing target areas make this a must-play course.
Atlantic Dunes by Davis Love III will host Round 2
- A complete reconstruction of the Ocean Course, Hilton Head Island’s first golf course, this seaside course has a pronounced Lowcountry feel accented by coquina shells and seaside grass. Modernized by Davis Love III, the coastal classic features rebuilt holes to accommodate modern shot values and frame scenic corridors.
