Round 4 - Gullane GC
The final day took us to the Gullane golf club Course #1. The wind was blowing again and this was going to test eveyone, especially the leaders who were in the worst of the wind at the tail of the field - and playing under the pressure of the Championship Group. The final group consisted of 2 past Champions - Jon Hunter & defending Champion Stuart McGregor as well as big hitting Jon Hill and of course leader Paul McMenemy. Paul played consistent golf to fend of the chasing pack and carded a strong final round 33 - ahead of Jon Hunter 35 points, Jon Hill 30 Points and John Beecroft 27 Points.
Everything comes to those who wait - and newly crowned Nearly Open Champion Sir Paul McMenemy has certainly waited - and waited - and waited to finally lift that elusive Claret Jug. Congrats Macca.
